What is Torque?

Torque is the effect of a force to cause an object to rotate around a particular axis.

Torque is measured in "Newton Meters" (N x m). It is measured by how many newtons of force multiplied by the meters it travels.

Torque vs. Force

Torque and Force are not the same! Force causes an object to accelerate in a straight line whereas Torque is the application of a force that causes an object to accelerate angularly.
